What happens after death?

Life after Death
by Peter James Seekings, Sydney N.S.W.
College printer, Aged 57

Many people still wonder if there is any survival after death dispite the wealth of literature on the subject over the past two hundred years starting with the Fox sisters , then with the forming of the Spiritualist Church in the U.K and then the U.S . My father Richard Thomas Seekings was a part of this upsurgeance . As one of twelve children living at Britania Barracks in Nowich he was a deep thinker and prayed that he could be given some sign that there is a life after death. Then one morning he awoke to see a chair rocking back and forth with someone keeping in time knocking on the wall. After a stint in the army in the 1920s looking for work during the depression, he and his brother managed to get some work washing dishes in a seaside town. When they returned to there room in the hotel a couple of nights later they found the draws of their chest of draws pulled out and the cloths hanging out of them. This went on for some days until they asked the manager if they could leave off early to try and catch the thief. HIding behind a screen ,the door opened and no one walked in and pulled out the draws. They were of course petrified but Dad had the presence of mind to use the 'one tap for yes, two taps for no ' method. Eventually they found out that the ghost was an old German who had left a considerable amount of money under the floorboards which he wanted to give to his daughter. With the consent of the owner of the hotel the floor boards were removed and there was the money, unfortunatly, pre war and worthless. They eventually found the old mans daughter and gave her the money.

Joining the Spiritualist Church he had many strange experiences, like a trumpet floating in the air and a voice speaking through it, or someone tied in a chair and ending up on the mantlepiece. I have to say the only experience I have had is a spontanious out of the body experience which proves at least to me that consciousness can exist outside of the body. For what it is worth I believe that life after death is what you make it within your own imagination after all even on this plane of existance we have to imagine somthing before we make it ; there we imagine it and it is there....
